Santi Cinco Cumplio Dos Anos

Santi's 2nd birthday was nearly 2 weeks ago, but I'm just getting around to writing about it. I truly haven't stopped thinking about what a perfect day it was for him....and admittedly, me too. This is what happiness looks like when you're two...

Some of the days activities included feeding goats dry, brown leaves. They're very picky & won't eat the millions of wet yellow ones laying on the ground.

Chasing pigs in circles around the farm.

Brushing a miniature horse. This is NOT a pony, as we learned through our own mistake.

Sat still for approximately 1.3 seconds.

Used our 3 " bunny petting fingers" to rub bunny behind the ears.

Fed baby goats out of our hands....and then washed our hands...a lot.

Watched the roosters with a couple of pretty girls.

Milked a goat...and then washed our hands a few more times.

 Blew out my candle...

...and then ate my cupcake on a fork. Is there something wrong with that?

Went pumpkin tossing. Ssshhhh....don't tell the farmers.

Drove a "tacor" instead of picking pumpkins in the patch like everyone else

Took pictures with my friends.

And finally the best shot of the day that included the majority of the big & little people, mostly sitting or standing still and looking at the camera...success!,

And of course, presents!

Thanks to everyone who made this such a memorable day for a very special little boy who is now "dos!"

Home Is Where Sunday Dinner Is

No matter whose family we visit Sunday dinner is always my favorite part of any trip "home" we take.  Our home is Cincinnati but we have a lot of second homes throughout the country...Pittsburgh, Corpus, Vegas, San Antonio, New Orleans & many others. We're blessed with amazing family & friends all over who open their hearts & homes to us when we're in town.

Sundays with family usually have a few staples-Family, football, food, drinks, laughs, stories & memories being made.

This time it happened to be in San Antonio at John & Shawn's.
It's amazing that it doesn't matter if it's homemade ravioli
or enchiladas, PA or Texas, Dos Equis or IC Light, Cowboys or Steelers {ok maybe that matters},  my blood family or Jimmy's.  The meeting place is always with family willing to open their home for as many people that will show for a home cooked meal. These things all make it feel like home on any given Sunday.

It is one of things I miss the most & one of the favorite parts about coming "home"...wherever that might be.

Thanks to all of you who have ever made us feel at home when when we're visiting our homes away from home.
